First upload in over a year. Yay.
I had the idea for this two days ago and since I haven't done a lot of creative stuff lately, I started working on it.
The Cantharan Schooner is an enemy starship from Nathan Lamont's game Ares. Loved the game back then, and I always liked the vertical design of the schooner.
If I remember correctly, you would only encounter the schooner once in the game, even though it actually made a prominent appearance in the intro movie for chapter 2. It was a fast, maneuverable ship armed with two photo-kinetic beam cannons. So basically it was a slightly slower fighter with slightly more armor.
My version of the ship has two photo-kinetic foward turrets and swivelling engines. The large engine nozzle at the back is the FTL booster which is only active when the ship warps.

Aside from the hexagonal pattern in the fins, all textures used are actually original textures. The image on the very left is a textureless render of the original model. The two forward-pointing nozzles are actually its cannons, the engines are attached to the sides.

Loved the Schooner. Such a unique design for ships. I like the spherical element you added here. Cool stuff.
